NEPALI POLITICS

Time seems to be running out for republicans for saving their existing political structure looking at the growing level of frustration of the common people towards the federal structure and rampant corruption. The way the royalists, nationalists and individuals joining hands together to destabilize the republican system seems to be gaining momentum rapidly signaling beginning of the worst days for the anti-nationalists and corrupt politicians.    The wise decision of the republicans would be to call for the political reconciliation with the non-republican forces at the soonest possible to save the nation from plunging into political chaos, social disharmony and pushing the nation towards a civil war thus making the nation a failed state.

I would be absolutely shocked and even cannot imagine if one day, all of a sudden, the big political parties’ government decides to merge with India, and be a new Indian state without having any consultation or mandate from the people, no parliamentary approval. We, the people, are a very nationalistic people, having never been colonized by any foreign power in modern history, this nation has been an independent country for centuries and the idea of merging with any other country is totally unthinkable. The question of merging with India is ridiculous, however, looking closely at the political acts of some of our pro-Indian leaders, I cannot remain in suspicion and have my ears and eyes always opened all the time. I hope, there are not any Lendup Dorjes in our country like in Sikkim who helped it to make one of the India’s states.
