Downfall of Oli’s government

KP Sarma Oli has resigned after some of the worst unrest in decades rocked the country this week, set off by a ban on social media and discontent at political corruption and nepotism. He tried to resist the protests called by the Gen Z but failed and had to leave his PM residence on army helicopter for his safety. His resignation came a day after widespread violent protests leaving 19 dead and hundreds injured. The spark for the protests was a government ban on 26 prominent social media apps , but escalated into a larger mass movement against corruption among political elites. Defying an indefinite curfew, thousands of young people returned to the Kathmandu streets on Tuesday, demanding change and clashing with riot police. Suhang Nembang- an emerging political leader

After Suhang Nembang became a Member of the House of Representatives ( HoR ), he seems to be taking notes of bad practices in the parliament which are hampering the parliamentary practices and law-making processes . He opines that parliament is a clean place, temple of good governance. People’s representatives should continuously raise public concern and voices in the house session rather than engaging in non-productive issues. The federal parliament is supposed to be working for law-making and addressing the burning issues and concerns of the nation and people. The law-making process is rigorous with several rounds of discussion at the parliament committee meetings. If all the lawmakers actively and sincerely engage in addressing the pressing issues, making necessary and appropriate laws are possible.
